BLUFFTON, IN, August 18, 2008 - The rumble of diesel engines signifies a new phase in the creation of Alexin LLC's Greenfield aluminum extrusion ingot facility. In recent weeks, truckloads of state-of-the-art equipment have arrived at the company's Bluffton, Indiana plant-site.
"It's exciting to see the equipment arrive," said Jeff Stringer, VP of Operations for the up-start aluminum re-melting firm, "especially since the majority of our equipment was ordered prior to the initiation of construction."
"I'm extremely pleased at the plant's progress," added Alexin LLC's President Tom Horter. "It has been a pleasure working in tandem with Industrial Contractors - our project managers - as well as their sub-contractors, all of whom have contributed to our facility's timely completion."
Horter, as well as other company executives, will tout Alexin LLC's Source-to-Source (S2S) distribution system at the annual management meeting of the Aluminum Extruders Council (www.aec.org), held in Chicago from September 16 - 18. "The management team of Alexin LLC will share our vision for the future with the extrusion industry," Horter explained. "It is our belief that our state-of-the-art aluminum, $58 million re-melt plant will meet the needs of the Midwest extrusion industry."
Alexin LLC's new GNA melter-and-holder has a capacity of 90,000 lbs. A highly automated Advanced Dynamics sawing system - capable of holding tight tolerances while providing maximum efficiency - is also on site.
