Alexin, LLC Receives First Round of Eco-friendly Production Equipment

BLUFFTON, IN, July 28, 2008 - In support of Alexin LLC's eco-friendly Source-to-Source (S2S) aluminum billet supply initiative, President Tom Horter announced the arrival of the first wave of Greenfield re-melt equipment to spur this ambitious endeavor.
"As the building phase of Alexin's plant site moves towards completion," said Horter, "the sight of the first of many dozens of truckloads signifies the commencement of our next segment of work."
When construction of Alexin LLC's plant wraps up this fall, the company's state-of-the-art aluminum re-melter - the first to be built in the United States since 2002 - will increase the supply of cost effective, environmentally friendly aluminum billet derived from recovered scrap. "Our proximity and regional focus on the Midwest's aluminum extrusion ingot needs is being readily accepted in the marketplace," Horter proudly explained. "Our schedule is being filled by representatives of aluminum extruders seeking tours of Alexin's facility."
With over 80 percent of its aluminum billet emanating from recovered scrap, Alexin LLC's efficient re-melt equipment will greatly enhance the extrusion industry's ability to participate in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design System's (LEEDS) Green Building program. The LEEDS initiative touts the use of recycled materials for the construction and renovation of public and private buildings, and public infrastructure.
